5 Tips to Nail Your Engagement Session!
ENGAGEMENT SESSION TIME HAS ARRIVED! A lot of times this is your first time getting professional photos done (excluding graduation photos or family photos). It is the perfect chance to get a little practice in before your big day! Here are some tips to get amazing photos and have the perfect session!
Treatit like a date! THE NUMBER ONE RULE! Seriously make a whole day out of it. Engagement sessions can be so fun. It is an hour or so of you cuddled up and cozy with the person you LOVE! Get dressed up, plan for dinner or something fun after. Make a whole day of it. It will get you in the mood!
2. Treat Yourself! Self care and spoiling yourself makes you feel good right? And that can give you that added boost in front of the camera. This can be as simple as a new accessory to more involved as a whole new outfit. Get your hair professionally done, makeup professionally done, or hey why not both? Or at least pamper yourself on getting those nails done for some ring shots. You know this works. Look good-feel good. You feeling good is going to help melt away any worries and lead to some amazing photos!
3. Tidy up! If you are wanting those up close shots of your ring, get it cleaned. Most jewelers offer this for free. This way your ring will be sparkling and shining bright on this day! Iron or steam your clothes so the wrinkles are gone! This will help uplevel your photos to flawless!
4. Location. Location. Location! Location plays a huge role! I’m a firm believer that it should resonate with you as a couple. If you hate the outdoors and bugs-hiking on a trail is probably not the spot for you not matter how pretty it is. If it is a place where you will not enjoy yourself it is maybe not a good place for you. I love pretty locations as much as the next person, but make sure it is a setting you are comfortable in. The bar you met? A trail you walk weekly? a cozy in home session? Seriously it can be anywhere so don’t get stuck picking somewhere just because it is what everyone else does.
5. No Limits! Do not limit yourself! If you are a couple who loves to travel, do a destination session! If you love your pup bring em out! You guys skateboard, climb, kayak incorporate it!!!! Adding little elements can help elevate your photos, and help you relax. It doesn’t have to be huge- even bringing a bottle of champagne, or setting up a picnic can add a little fun twist!
ALRIGHT YOU HAVE THE TOOLS NOW GO ON AND ROCK YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION!
When Jiwon inquired she said, “Shashank and I aren’t doing anything big or traditional. I just want to elope with some close friends and I may not even wear a white dress…gasps.” The goal was simple getting these two married!
